The benefits of music as a part of education are proven and well documented. For this reason, we believe that every student should have the chance to participate, have fun, and reap the benefits. There’s something for everyone!
Music Programs Available at Shoreline:
Strings Orchestra

Students in this ensemble play Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass. Beginners will play in the Junior Strings ensemble. Students with one year of experience can play in Intermediate Strings. Those with more experience can play in Advanced Strings. Strings Orchestra performs in Shoreline Concerts and District Events. Intermediate and Advanced Strings travel each year.
Concert Choir

This group is for anyone who loves to sing! All grades and both boys and girls are welcome. No audition is required! The concert choir performs at Shoreline concerts and local festivals.
Concert Band and Jazz Band

Students in Concert Band play a wide variety of wind and percussion instruments. There are three ensembles: Gr. 6 Band, Gr. 7 Band, and Gr. 8 Band. Concert Bands participate in Shoreline concerts and Festivals. Gr. 7/8 Band travels each year.
Students in Jazz Band play concert band instruments, as well as rhythm section instruments (bass, drums, guitar, piano). To be a member of this ensemble, students must also be in concert band. Experience on rhythm section instruments is not required, but spots are limited and priority is given to those with experience.
